Ενδιαφερουσα θεση απο τον Ad Konings οτι τα ilagni ισως να αποτελουν φυσικο υβριδιο...
"The so-called Ilangi Moorii, found sympatric with the Chilanga variant of T. Sp. red in Kasaba Bay, is sometimes regarded a geographical varient of T. Moorii because of its yellow coloured body, but in DNA analyses it either groups with T sp. red or forms a distinct entity between T. sp. red and T. moorii from the southern populations."


Schupke reports two different fry from a pair of illangi which may indicate that this variant is not an established lineage and that perhaps each individual is the result of a cross.
"All these findings indicate that the Ilangi is not a pure species and may have originated from a natural hybrid between the Chilanga varient of T. Sp red and the Nangu varient of T. Moorii."
