Sulawesi Shrimp Setup Update
Unfortunately, not all updates come with good news. We have received the shrimps but they were more dead than the styrofoam pack they came into.
Unfortunately the company (a very well know one) that we ordered these shrimp from, charged us a shipping price equivalent to that of Express shipping but for some unknown reason sent them to Malta via Deuthschepost DHL. This service is basically the same as that of normal courier postage that takes from 5 - 15 days approximately to arrrive at its destination.
The shrimp, obviously spending 10 days inside the breather bags, all died and none of them was barely identifiable as shrimp in the bad state we received them.
What a pity !! This will be a learning experience for us, and hopefully for anyone who wants to order livestock directly from Germany. If anyone opts for this, you should always ask for Express International Courier service such as TNT or a better company than DHL. Shipping price does not really matter compared to the life of an animal, and the invaluable beauty it holds.
